RECRUITMENT

Jayne Potter , senior trainer, implements the Combers Training programme with assistance from Kelly Cridge.  Structuring and running the training programme is a demanding role, but Jayne has a whole wealth of experience  to draw from to ensure each team member receives the best possible guidance.

Members of the team undergo NVQ training at Somerset College of Arts and Technology in Taunton and running alongside this is the Combers Training Programme, which ultimately results in the Combers Certificate of Excellence – a stage further than NVQ’s.  This in-house programme is very demanding and at each stage team members have to satisfy Jayne and Simon that they have achieved  the necessary skills to move onto the next level.

Regular appraisals built into the system means that a close eye is kept on development at every stage and it enables the team members to discuss their progress on a one-to-one basis with Simon.

Combers hairdressers of St James Street, Taunton, became only the second hairdressing salon in the Somerset County to become an Investor in People.

Simon Willetts, Combers proprietor commented “investing in your people – whether you are a hairdressing salon or an engineering company – is not an option, it is a necessity in today’s competitive market place.  Our business survives on our ability to attract the right people and then train them to the highest levels.  And the best people will want to work for organisations which show they care about their workforce”.
